We are 1/2 mile north of Harding & I-65 at 3656 Trousdale, in Suite 112,. The new gallery is more functional, more accessible and actually more fun than before. (Our signage has not been changed yet, so it still says Savage Furniture Gallery.) In addition, we have a parking lot right outside our door with plenty of FREE parking.
Our mission has always been to provide solutions, so we have named the gallery:

Take Arts and Tailored Frame Solutions

The space is a working gallery, so our services and selections are now integrated together. We are committed to providing solutions for every genre and budget. Our creativity and integrity in packaging art is stronger than ever. Chris Gowen has been named Creative Director with the move.
If you didn't know, we make house calls giving us the opportunity to understand the needs of your space and design tastes better. We offer suggestions on the perfect eyelines for your home or office. Likewise, our corporate design and planning provides added value for your customers and employees. We offer wholesale and corporate discounts as well.
We invite you to come take a look at the new Take, and keep us in mind for all your framing and design needs. For those who visit our new location before November 1st, we are offering some great discounts, incentives and gifts, so come by for a nice surprise - just say trick or treat! (We have a huge selection of overstock, precut frames that needs to be liquidated ASAP). Bring us something to frame and we'll make you a great deal on a custom order.
For our designers, we are offering a new, exciting concept whereby you can call and reserve a desk, certain beverages, ie. coffee, bottled water or wine, for you and your client(s) and our assistance in providing our wide choice of art and framing solutions conveniently. This spares you having to come and pick up art and framing samples for your client(s), saving you and your client(s) time and gas. What could be more convenient? As we introduce this solution, we welcome your input and suggestions in order to make this work even better.
One more special feature is that we can still offer our space for very low prices as a venue to have weddings, receptions, parties, meetings and more for up to 125 guests. Be sure to call our event specialist, Randi Lesnick, at 615-662-3539, for information.
Also, The Groove Record Shop, located in East Nashville in the 5-Points area, has partnered with us as a Print Mafia retail distributor. They're offering some discounts on these collectible posters right now. Plus, when you purchase ANY poster from The Groove Record Shop and bring it to us, we'll give you an automatic 10% DiSCOUNT on the framing. Be sure to go by there and see their great selections in every genre of music.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

TAKE IT ALL MOVING SALE AT TAKE 121 ART GALLERY

TAKE 121 ART GALLERY PREPARES FOR IT'S MOVE TO A NEW LOCATION AT 3656 TROUSDALE DR. I love stories, I love history and what I absolutely love about this city is that everywhere you turn, there are those stories and that history." Billups came to art somewhat accidently. Originally attending college to play baseball, a rare illness took Billups's sight.

His love of music helped him through the difficulties of struggling with losing his eyesight. When he realized the illness had impaired his ability to play ball, he fell back on his love of music and art. Billups has since overcome the illness that took his eyesight to focus his career on the arts. "I know whole-heartedly that I appreciate where I am so much more from that experience. I take in what I am seeing and what I am experiencing in a fond appreciation for that place and moment."

Take 121 will hold an opening reception on Saturday August 2nd as part of the August Gallery Crawl from 6-9 pm. The all star presence of the father, Gary, features his contemporary works in acrylic shown in the Tennessee State Museum as well as three of his works recently purchased by Robert Frist for the lobby of his company, Healthstream; Eva-Marie Pappas, the mother, is known for her imaginative, one-of-a-kind pottery, from jewelry boxes to vases to collectible dish ware; Daniel, one of the sons, creates mixed media works that define the charm and wit of today's gen-20s; and Eric, Daniel's brother, also in the Tennessee State Museum, has a timeless simplicity that breaks barriers appealing to almost every audience, blending with every genre.

We happily thank our wonderful sponsors: Encore!, our lead sponsor; West Meade Wine & Liquor Mart, hosting a wine tasting; Red Bull, providing both regular and sugar-free beverages; Bongo Java, providing coffees; and Past Perfect, providing appetizers. This is the first show in which our gallery's frame shop, Framo Products, has provided all of the framing. Many wonderful comments have been made, consistently noting the artistic value of the framing and matting that accentuates these beautiful photographic works. Also, our patrons will be happy to note that all works are available in print. Thereby, we can provide a framing and matting that may better suit your taste as well as your price point.

One does not necessarily need be an equestrian of any sort in order to appreciate this photo exhibit. From Maggie's "Rainbows Aren't Just In The Sky" to Kristoffersen's "Steeplechase" in watercolor, this is artistic photography, no doubt. One can appreciate both the subject matter as well as the presentation provided by the framing and matting. Just about anyone with any decor might incorporate these thoughtful pieces into a living space. After all, the horse can provoke many statements of man's conquests, work ethic, history, poetry and humanity. Come and visit our gallery and experience this show before it's bound for a national tour!

Double Take of the Great American Horse celebrates the fact that the Tennessee Walking Horse was originally from Middle Tennessee where it was designed and bred. This is one of the most versatile horses on the planet! We, here in Middle Tennessee would do well to take ownership of this exhibit and proudly support it by coming to view it and recognize that the Tennessee Walking Horse is iconic, magical, authentic and unique. Don't miss seeing this FREE show before it's ending on April 25!

Also, Maggie Moore has provided her beautiful coffee table book, entitled Walking With Friends, for sale at $55 each or two (2) for $90. This book is full of photos she's taken of the Tennessee Walking Horse in all 48 states. Yes, this is a very American Horse, indeed!! Give one to a friend...for a birthday, Christmas, or just friendship!

In observing these photographic works, one is gently pulled into these artists' concepts. It's beautiful to see the way Maggie has seemingly captured the real personalities of her equestrian friends - you can even equate these, perhaps, to that of a certain human loved one, ie, their strength, their character, their passion and on and on. Kristoffersen shows the mystery, the magic, and the memories in his Civil War Reenactment Photos. Amazing! It's as though you're seeing a moment as it truly happened. These works will make wonderful gifts for someone special. Again, we here at Take 121 Arts invite you, with your family and your friends to come and experience this relaxed, yet inspiring photo art exhibit, on display through April 25. Be our guests! We're opened Tue - Fri, 10AM - 6PM, Sat. 11AM - 3PM or by appointment. Just call us at (615)244-4642 or visit our Web site at
www.take121.com. As many of you may know, we had the opening photo exhibit for Maggie Moore and Kris Kristoffersen on March 1st. The photo exhibit was very successful! We first opened the silent auction during the opening show, Double Take of the Great American Horse. This silent auction will run through April 18 so that patrons may continue to either come by the gallery or call our gallery at (615) 244-4642 to place their bid. Pictures of the works will be added to this blog by Tuesday, March 25. One hundred percent (100%) of the bids from the auction will go to Saddle Up! in order to benefit their cause.

Maggie Moore donated one (1) photograph and one (1) portraiture sitting where she will come out and perform a photo shoot of you or someone you choose with their horse or as prefered. In like manner, Kris has donated a photo of a steeplechase scene as well as a portrait photo of a beautiful lily from his select collection. Again, ALL proceeds will benefit Saddle Up! Please tell your friends and family about this opportunity. The weather is turning Springlike very quickly. Let's benefit Saddle Up! as their Summer season comes up. This is their busiest time of year, no kidding! They've got a very long waiting list of other children who'd like to participate. The only glitch is, they need funds to provide more horses, feed, tack, etc. in order to accommodate the growing demand.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Saddle Up! offers very unique programs that can make an extraordinary difference in the life of a challenged child as well as that child's family. Just go to www.saddleupnashville.org where you'll find out just what a great organization this is. You can also send donations directly to them. We'd appreciate your letting them know that you responded due to this Take 121 Art Gallery Blog site. They're always needing volunteers so if you love horses and helping people, especially children then contact Saddle Up! today.

Another great piece of information about Take 121 Arts is our After Work Get-Together. The way it works is simple. Monday through Friday, between the hours of 3pm and 9pm, slate any two hour slot, invite 10 to 30 of your guests to meet you at our gallery and we'll provide the wine and cheese and crackers FREE!!!. This gives you the opportunity to host an impromptu cocktail party at a beautiful art gallery. Use this for a wedding shower, a baby shower, a CD release party, a network party (realtors, marketing, clients, customers) or just a gathering. It's a great way for people to enjoy the downtown area and get to know all about our gallery, our frame shop, our variety of artists as well as the fact that we rent our 5000sf venue for parties of up to 200 people. Just give us a call to find out if this is something you'd like to take advantage of.

We are presently preparing for Spring inventory when we will discontinue some artists' pieces in order to take on some new artwork. This is a very good time to check us out if you've been wanting to add some decor to your home or office, you'd like to own original artwork and you'd like to take advantage of our SALE starting NOW!!! We're offering from 20% up to 50% off of more than half of our inventory! Come down and take advantage of this - you can do it!!! Don't believe you have to be a designer or a decorator in order to appreciate art for your home. Just pick out what you like - it's really that simple!!

We rep over 250 local, national and international artists. The works might be jewelry, pottery, glassware, metal works, furniture, mixed media, oil paintings, watercolors, photo works, leather works, handmade greeting cards, etc. Also, there is something for every taste and every price point. We have many pieces that are ready immediately for display. Then, we also have our custom frame shop where we can update your art, fix or repair your framing or provide new framing as well as matting. Plus, we are known locally and by decorators and designers for our artistic framing. All of this not to impress you, but rather to impress upon you that it would be quite practical to make our gallery a regular shopping spot for your life style needs.

Alright, this is Nanette Young, PR/Mktg Director here at Take 121 Arts, reminding you to support the arts! They're vital to any community's economy and intellectual health. You provide gainful employment to people of skill, people who design, craft, build and work to inspire people's spirits. That is a good thing, wouldn't you think?

Take 121 Art Gallery - Hundreds of art lovers trotted to March 1 photo exhibit

Take 121 Art Gallery rounded up approximately 500 patrons who trotted over to the SoBro-based gallery for “Double Take,” a March 1 photo exhibit featuring the works of Maggie Moore and Kris Kristoffersen.

The Spring-like temperature provided a wonderful evening of fun, food and art. The date also coincided with a Gallery Art Crawl given every first Saturday of the month in downtown Nashville. Art lovers came in droves for the opening night reception for Maggie Moore, one of the country's premier horse photographers and Kris Kristoffersen, an Americana, naturalist photographer and his equine photos.

We thank our sponsors for being a major part of the success of this show. Starting with CMT, their sponsorship helped us to spread the news, a likely reason for the spectacular turn-out. We are awed by their commitment to community as demonstrated by CMT One Country, their initiative to encourage individuals to use their talents and resources to make a positive difference, showing The Power of One! Hat Creek Carriage gave patrons free carriage rides around the block for the first hour of the show, encouraging families with children to enjoy the sights and sounds of the arts district. Frozen mint Juleps were served compliments of RentaRita and Buffalo Trace Bourbon, as were red and white wines from The Wine Shoppe at Green Hills. Past Perfect provided light appetizers for the event. Performer Jim Batson set the evening's breezy mood with his distinct Texas Swing and Classic Country music. Lastly, an inspiring video designed by Hallmark/Mitchell Video Productions brought tears to everyone's eyes as they learned about Saddle Up! and it's loving mission to help challenged children.

In hosting four major exhibits a year, Take 121 has made the commitment to support one chosen non-profit by way of a silent auction with donated works by the featured artist(s) for each show. Saddle Up! was chosen as the beneficiary non-profit for this equine photo celebration since it is an organization dedicated to providing recreational horse therapy to challenged children. Artists Moore and Kristoffersen were so impressed with Saddle Up's mission that they've developed a separate supportive relationship. To find out more about Saddle Up! and their mission to help special children, their Web site is at www.saddleupnashville.org.

How appropriate that this show, which is now available for national bookings, started right here in Middle Tennessee, the birthplace of the Tennessee Walking Horse. This equine is one of the most versatile horses on the planet and so drew a varied group of opening night guests. Everyone was moved by the photography as well as the spectacular framing crafted by Take 121's framing manager Chris Gowen. Also, Take 121 is now representing the fine metal works of the Twisted Sisters, known nationally for their exquisite designs of chandeliers, wall sconces, metal tapestries, landscapes, lamps and guitars. Take 121 is very pleased to represent their works here in Nashville.

The “Double Take” American Horse exhibit will continue through April 25th at Take 121 Arts. Maggie Moore's book, Walking With Friends is available at retail for $55. For those interested in placing a bid to benefit our chosen non-profit, Saddle Up!, the silent auction, featuring selected works of Moore, Kristoffersen and the Twisted Sisters will also run through April 25th.

Take 121 Art Gallery will have links to Maggie Moore's and Kris Kristoffersen's as well as the Twisted Sister's works by mid-March.
