Germantown Hosts Incredible Architectural Tour & Art Crawl!!!
Don't miss Nashville's Urban Architectural Tour & Art Crawl beginning Thursday, September 4, from 4PM until 9PM in Germantown sponsored by The Stockyard Restaurant, Nashville's premier steak house. The art crawl is brought to you by Take 121 Art Gallery, Nashville's largest art market which will soon have a new location at 3656 Trousdale Drive, right off of I-65 at Harding Place. In celebration, Take 121 will feature a BLOW-OUT MOVING SALE on original works, stocked art and framing. The art sale will continue through Oktoberfest, October 11th. Local developments at 4th and Monroe (Traditional Urban Concepts), Harrison Square (Craighead Development), Morgan Park Place (Lawrence Brothers ), Concept G and District Lofts (Double A Development) cordially invite you to view local artists showcased including the Oglander Family, Rudy Siciliano, and Anthony Billups. Indulge in light fare and spirits while enjoying a tour in some of the areas's most popular urban communities in Germantown and the North Capital area. The Flying Oglanders: A Family of Fine Artists
Nashvillians are invited to view the new contemporary works of the Oglander family at a public reception opening 6 pm to 9 pm, Saturday May 3 through Friday, June 27 at Take 121 Art Gallery.
The Oglanders are a talented and unique family made up of Gary, the patriarch, Eva-Marie Pappas, Eric and Daniel. The all star presence of the father, Gary, features his contemporary works in acrylic shown in the Tennessee State Museum as well as three of his works recently purchased by Robert Frist for the lobby of his company, Healthstream; Eva-Marie Pappas, the mother, is known for her imaginative, one-of-a-kind pottery, from jewelry boxes to vases to collectible dish ware; Daniel, one of the sons, creates mixed media works that define the charm and wit of today's gen-20s; and Eric, Daniel's brother, also in the Tennessee State Museum, has a timeless simplicity that breaks barriers appealing to almost every audience, blending with every genre.
We happily thank our wonderful sponsors: Encore!, our lead sponsor; West Meade Wine & Liquor Mart, hosting a wine tasting; Red Bull, providing both regular and sugar-free beverages; Bongo Java, providing coffees; and Past Perfect, providing appetizers. Also live music will be performed by local musicians and friends of the Oglanders. Children are welcome with supervising adult.
A silent auction is always held during a major exhibit, with works donated by the featured artist(s), in order to benefit a chosen non-profit. We are very proud that all winning bids from the Oglander silent auction will go to The Ronald McDonald House. This auction will close at the end of this exhibit on June 27.

Art in a Silent Spring Auction for Saddle Up!
At Take 121 Art Gallery, we are presently maintaining a silent auction to benefit the wonderful non-profit, Saddle Up! which provides recreational horse therapy for challenged children between the ages of 4 through 18. As many of you may know, we had the opening photo exhibit for Maggie Moore and Kris Kristoffersen on March 1st. The photo exhibit was very successful! We first opened the silent auction during the opening show, Double Take of the Great American Horse. This silent auction will run through April 18 so that patrons may continue to either come by the gallery or call our gallery at (615) 244-4642 to place their bid. Pictures of the works will be added to this blog by Tuesday, March 25. One hundred percent (100%) of the bids from the auction will go to Saddle Up! in order to benefit their cause.
Maggie Moore donated one (1) photograph and one (1) portraiture sitting where she will come out and perform a photo shoot of you or someone you choose with their horse or as prefered. In like manner, Kris has donated a photo of a steeplechase scene as well as a portrait photo of a beautiful lily from his select collection. Again, ALL proceeds will benefit Saddle Up! Please tell your friends and family about this opportunity. The weather is turning Springlike very quickly. Let's benefit Saddle Up! as their Summer season comes up. This is their busiest time of year, no kidding! They've got a very long waiting list of other children who'd like to participate. The only glitch is, they need funds to provide more horses, feed, tack, etc. in order to accommodate the growing demand.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Saddle Up! offers very unique programs that can make an extraordinary difference in the life of a challenged child as well as that child's family. We'd appreciate your letting them know that you responded due to this Take 121 Art Gallery Blog site. They're always needing volunteers so if you love horses and helping people, especially children then contact Saddle Up! today.
Another great piece of information about Take 121 Arts is our After Work Get-Together. The way it works is simple. Monday through Friday, between the hours of 3pm and 9pm, slate any two hour slot, invite 10 to 30 of your guests to meet you at our gallery and we'll provide the wine and cheese and crackers FREE!!!. This gives you the opportunity to host an impromptu cocktail party at a beautiful art gallery. Use this for a wedding shower, a baby shower, a CD release party, a network party (realtors, marketing, clients, customers) or just a gathering. It's a great way for people to enjoy the downtown area and get to know all about our gallery, our frame shop, our variety of artists as well as the fact that we rent our 5000sf venue for parties of up to 200 people. Just give us a call to find out if this is something you'd like to take advantage of.
We are presently preparing for Spring inventory when we will discontinue some artists' pieces in order to take on some new artwork. This is a very good time to check us out if you've been wanting to add some decor to your home or office, you'd like to own original artwork and you'd like to take advantage of our SALE starting NOW!!! We're offering from 20% up to 50% off of more than half of our inventory! Come down and take advantage of this - you can do it!!! Don't believe you have to be a designer or a decorator in order to appreciate art for your home. Just pick out what you like - it's really that simple!!
We rep over 250 local, national and international artists. The works might be jewelry, pottery, glassware, metal works, furniture, mixed media, oil paintings, watercolors, photo works, leather works, handmade greeting cards, etc. Also, there is something for every taste and every price point. We have many pieces that are ready immediately for display. Then, we also have our custom frame shop where we can update your art, fix or repair your framing or provide new framing as well as matting. Plus, we are known locally and by decorators and designers for our artistic framing. All of this not to impress you, but rather to impress upon you that it would be quite practical to make our gallery a regular shopping spot for your life style needs.
